This dynamic Eagle panel is a collaboration between Kwakwaka'wakw artists and cousins Junior Henderson and Greg Henderson, nephews of renowned artist Bill Henderson. While the artwork is a testament to their knowledge of traditional Kwakwaka'wakw carving and design, it also displays the artists individual stylistic flair.
Deeply carved and painted in the bold colours associated with Kwakwaka'wakw art, the entire surface is knife-finished which creates a beautiful faceted texture to the wood. The artists have carefully inlayed copper and added cedar bark details to the piece.
Impressive is an understatement for this joint tour de force!
