Reawakening
March 24 – April 14
In the Arctic, the arrival of spring marks the end of the long, dark winter and the beginning of a new season. The sea ice begins to break up, wildflowers and plants begin to blossom, and animals begin to migrate.
This changing Arctic landscape provides new opportunities for traveling, hunting, and gathering. A cause for celebration, spring is welcomed with the annual Spring Festival, marking the return of the sun.
Spring is a time of hope, growth, and renewal, as well as a time to honour and connect with the natural world and the spirits that govern it.
The artworks in Reawakening include original Inuit drawings capturing the beauty of the changing seasons, joyful sculpture in various media, and unique jewelry made from a variety of natural materials.
The stunning works on display offer a unique glimpse into the beauty, diversity, and vibrancy of Inuit culture, and are sure to inspire and delight.
