With Kinngait Calling, the Inuit Gallery of Vancouver brings together the work of four distinctive artists: Ningeosiaq Ashoona, Johnnysa Mathewsie, Pitseolak Qimirpik and Mathew Flaherty. This collection of work represents a snapshot of the diverse artistic creativity to be found in Cape Dorset (Kinngait) today. All of these artists are at highly productive points in their careers – three of them (Ningeosiaq Ashoona and Johnnysa Mathewsie and Pitseolak Qimirpik) are established artists, while Mathew Flaherty is an emerging artists, all with great careers ahead.
