We are thrilled to present an extraordinary collection of contemporary Northwest Coast Indigenous art, showcasing the innovation and mastery of celebrated artists from the 1970s to today.

Monumental artworks in the collection include an incredible Bentwood Chest by the late, legendary Gitksan leader and artist Earl Muldoe (1936 - 2022). The Hereditary Chief of the House of Delgamuukw and a recipient of the Order of Canada, Muldoe made innumerable cultural contributions throughout his career, championing Indigenous rights, preserving Gitksan traditions, and shaping the broader cultural landscape.

Additional large-scale standouts include Musqueam artist Susan Point’s stunning 43" red cedar spindle whorl and freestanding sculpture, Fusion, which was the maquette for a 14 foot tall public sculpture in south Vancouver, as well as Nisga'a-Tahltan-Tlingit artist Ken McNeil’s commanding 60" wide knife-finished red cedar Wolf Transformation Panel (1990).

This collection also features three exceptional argillite sculptures by renowned Haida artists Robert Davidson and Christian White, including Davidson’s model totem pole from the late 1960s/early 1970s, and White’s exquisitely carved Panel Pipe, featured in the Vancouver Art Gallery’s 2006 exhibition, Raven Travelling: Two Centuries of Haida Art, alongside his intricate 11" tall Raven Dancing Across the Sea sculpture.

Haida artist Jay Simeon's Weeping Frog Mother Rattle (2007) in yellow cedar with striking abalone inlay is also of note, along with Tsimshian artist Corey Moraes’ Formline Revolution Bentwood Box (2006) which was featured in the book, Seekers and Travellers: Contemporary Art of the Pacific Northwest Coast.

This collection is a testament to the ongoing strength of Northwest Coast artistic traditions—bridging past, present, and future with profound cultural and artistic expression.
