Recent Drawings by Tim Pitsiulak
We are pleased to present recent drawings by artist Tim Pitsiulak from Cape Dorset. One of his inspirations for becoming an artist was his late aunt, the redoubtable Kenojuak Ashevak. A consummate artist, Tim works in many mediums but of late his drawings have garnered particular attention. A keen student of his environment, both physical and cultural, Tim’s drawings of the ever mutable Inuit legends, the creatures both animal and human that inhabit those stories as well as his renderings of the modern Inuit world all compel the viewer to stop and pay attention, just like the work of Alex Coleville and Christopher Pratt. Like those two Canadian icons, Tim’s drawings are painstakingly done and it is a pleasure for the Inuit Gallery of Vancouver to be able to offer this grouping of new works on paper.
All works are available immediately.
