Tim Pitsiulak - Drawings of Myth and Machine
Tim Pitsiulak draws inspiration for his drawings from Inuit mythology and the traditional life on the land including the present day realities of living in the Arctic. He brings these diverse subjects to life through his highly realistic drawing style and with an astonishing eye for detail and composition. Many of his works reflect his own experiences and show his talent to closely observe the environment, animals, hunting scenes or even accidents while being on the land and bring them accurately to paper afterwards. Some of his most spectacular works show in fantastic detail the machinery such as ski dos and motor boats, that he uses to hunt.
Drawings of Myth and Machine shows that images of traditional and contemporary life in the Arctic can comfortably sit side by side and complement each other when explored by a masterful artist like Tim Pitsiulak.
