Elisha Ipeelee lives and works out of Iqaluit, Nunavut. He is well known for his intricate depictions of owls, which he carves as individual pieces or sometimes up to 5 or 6 in a grouping. He chooses to carve them primarily out of caribou antler and they can either be free standing or fixed to a carved antler base.
