(1955 - Present)
Born in 1955 in Masset, British Columbia to the Raven Clan, Isabel has been weaving ever since she was a child. She is related to other well-known weavers such as Selena Peratrovich and Florence Edenshaw Davidson. Isabel comes from a long line of weavers including her mother, Primrose Adams, and her great-great-grandmother, Isabella Edenshaw.
Isabel goes through the grueling and exhaustive process of gathering spruce roots herself, traveling annually to North Beach on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia) to harvest her material. She also likes to use natural grasses and maiden hair fern in her work. Her weavings are known for their intricate, beautiful and delicate nature.
