(1961 – Present; Tsimshian)
Born in 1961 in Prince Rupert, Mitch Adams is the son of talented Haida jeweler and carver Ivan Adams. It was Ivan who taught the young Mitch traditional Northwest Coast design and engraving, but it would not be until 2005 that Mitch began carving on a regular basis. Since then, he has become a talented wood carver and engraver, having created a number of limited edition prints. In 2010, Mitch relocated to Terrace, B.C. to study at the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art, where he has expanded his knowledge of design and carving under the tutelage of celebrated artists like Stan Bevan, Dempsey Bob, and Ken McNeil.
