The late Noo Atsiaq was a Cape Dorset based artist whose work was celebrated for its elegant forms, fluid lines, and harmonic proportions. Born in 1986 to Alashua Atsiaq and Piulia Pudlalik Atsiaq, Noo was greatly influenced by senior Cape Dorset carvers throughout his life. Primarily self-taught, Noo preferred carving bears in a variety of poses, such as dancing, diving, and walking bears.
