We are delighted to be presenting the work of Alison Bremner, a Tlingit artist from Southeast Alaska, who expresses her deep cultural heritage through various art forms, including paintings, jewelry, drums, and regalia. Raised in both her native and non-native cultures, Alison offers a distinctive and at times humorous perspective through her artwork, combining traditional formline with contemporary and surrealist elements. She has been mentored by renowned artists Cheryl Samuel and David R. Boxley, drawing inspiration from ancient traditions and modern influences such as coffee. Notably, Alison's work has been included in the permanent collections of the British Museum.
“Tlingit art is not just art – it is an internal compass, a connection to who we are as people and where we come from.” - Alison Bremner
