(1989 – Present, Tlingit)

Up-and-coming artist Alison Bremner was born in 1989 in southeastern Alaska. As a Tlingit artist who was exposed to both native and non-native cultures for much of her life, Alison’s work brings new insight into the lives and culture of modern First Nations peoples. She has studied with established artists Cheryl Samuel and David R. Boxley. In addition to her exploration of traditional formline design, Alison’s work often also speaks to other artistic traditions and treats her subjects with a distinct sense of humour.
