Etidloie Adla is an up-and-coming artist who was born in Cape Dorset, where he continues to reside. The region’s vibrant artistic community has served as inspiration to the young artist whose work has been featured in two exhibitions held at the Inuit Gallery. Both of Etidloie’s grandfathers, Audla Pee and Kulai Adla, were well-known carvers who influenced his practice. Etidloie is particularly known for his highly realistic and refined technique, which gives his carvings fluid contours and a sense of dynamic energy. Etidloie’s brothers, Ashevak Adla and the late Mappaluk Adla, are also carvers in Cape Dorset.
