(1976 – Present, Coast Salish)

Coast Salish artist Jody Broomfield is a young, up-and-coming artist who has studied under his uncles, Jim Paull and Dave Nahanee. Born in 1976 in North Vancouver, Jody has been drawing and sketching since he was a child, and it is this longstanding interest in art that has inspired him to learn his cultural heritage and history. He became a full-time artist in 1999 and he has since worked on a number of projects, including a collaborative effort with the Royal Canadian Mint and the BC Lions Society. Jody is currently apprenticing with celebrated Kwakwaka’wakw/Coast Salish artist Khatle-Bhi.
