Joslyn Williams
(1997 - Present, Kwakwaka'wakw, Nuu-chah-nulth)
Joslyn Williams was born in 1997 and has been living in Victoria, B.C. her entire life. Joslyn is of Nuu-chah-nulth and Kwakwaka’wakw heritage but is focusing on the style of Nuu-chah-nulth art. She is the only one in her family that has taken an interest in learning how to carve.
Joslyn started carving at the Victoria Native Friendship Center (VNFC) on a totem pole with other native youth. The totem pole she took part in carving was raised in front of VNFC in March 2006. She has continued to learn and expand her abilities as an artist from master carver Moy Sutherland and has since become his apprentice.
