Raven’s child mask is inspired by the story of when he tricked a Staltmc Hereditary Chief’s daughter. The Sun belonged to her father and Raven wanted it for himself. The feathers coming off the cheeks and the chin represent the Raven’s genetics. The prominent nose resembles a beak. Abalone is traditionally used on a Chiefs headdress; inlayed in this piece because it is the hereditary chief's grandson.
