Iqaluit-based artist Kelly Annugakuluk was a first-generation carver who lived a largely traditional life off of the land. Though not a prolific artist, his sensitive handling of stone and his subtle details reveals his familiarity with his subject matter, undoubtedly bred from many years of direct encounters.
