The Barred Owl comes is a species known as Strix Varia - “varia” is Latin for “varius” meaning diverse. Barred owls represent vivaciousness and a deep knowledge of personal boundary and generosity. Its dark brown eyes indicate your deep connection to spirituality and your creative ability. The eyes of an artist are reflected in the eyes of these large round creatures. Their call is unique and prominent and some followers say their call sounds as though they're saying “Who cooks, who cooks for you ALL?” Like an Old Forest Mother, hunting at night to feed her family – this beautiful owl connects us to our mothers and reminds us to take care of ourselves.
